The actor is currently basking in the success of the film as it turned out to be a great hit at the box office. Reflecting on the film’s success, Massey had earlier appreciated the audiences gratitude upon exiting the theatre.

The film delves into the societal pressures and personal struggles that accompany academic setbacks, offering a poignant commentary on the education system and its impact on individuals.

The 36-year-old didn’t buckle under it and clarified, “My heart is full. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. When people walked out [of the theatre], they thanked us for making the film and that’s what matters most.”

While on national talk show, Vikrant Massey talked about his struggles. He mentioned starting his film journey at 15 because he needed to find work. He explained that he didn’t want his college fees to be a burden on his father.

Talking about his decision to cast Vikrant for the film, Vidhu Vinod Chopra had said, Vikrant will become a star after this film. Because he is the finest actor we have in this country and people like him should be stars.”

Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, ’12th Fail’ centers on UPSC aspirants and draws from personal experiences. It is based on the real-life hardships faced by millions of students who take the UPSC entrance exam.

Based on the 2019 non-fiction book of the same name by Anurag Pathak, it tells the true story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who rose from the depths of poverty to become an officer in the Indian Police Service.

Vikrant began his journey with the television show ‘Dhoom Machao Dhoom’ followed by ‘Qubool Hai’ and ‘Balika Vadhu’. he has acted in movies including ‘Gaslight’, ‘Half Girlfriend’, ‘Lootera’, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, and ‘Chhapaak’. He will next be seen in ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’.
