No changes have been made under the hood alongside the name change, so don’t expect any additional AI functionality in the mobile versions of Edge.

Microsoft has made plenty of AI-related tweaks to Edge in recent times, though, including experimenting with a new AI-generated writing feature.
This new name, and further artificial intelligence capabilities which are doubtless inbound, are going to be carrots to attempt to recruit new users for Edge in the battle of the best web browsers.
Microsoft will continue to hammer the importance of AI, as the next iteration of Windows might not be Windows 12, but rather it could be named after AI in the same way that Edge mobile has just been.
The new name seems to be generating mixed reactions from customers. Some claim Microsoft has no right to call Edge an “AI browser”, while others support the new naming scheme considering how many extra features you get by pressing the Copilot button on the toolbar.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has disabled its ms-app installer URI scheme (App Installer) after observing that threat actors are using it to distribute malware. According to a blog from Microsoft Threat Intelligence, the tech giant has been observing threat actors since mid-November 2023.
