Instead, he has chosen to set up a large screen at the Raj Bhavan to allow cricket enthusiasts and fans to come together and enjoy the game collectively. He has decided to open a ‘Janata Stadium’ for the cricket fans. The India-South Africa clash is expected to be a thrilling encounter, and the tickets for the match were in high demand.
He returned four complimentary tickets for the world cup match that is to be held here on Sunday at Eden Garden stadium, following allegations of black marketing. The tickets for the Eden Gardens tie were provided to him by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).

A total of 500 people will be admitted on a first-come-first-served basis from 12 noon-2 pm to watch the ICC World Cup 2023 match. Fans can also apply online for entry to the Raj Bhavan lawn. They can apply via official e-mail of Raj Bhavan aamnesaamne.rajbhavankolkata@gmail.com. Government ID such as Aadhaar, driving licence etc should be included in the email and will be required to be carried for entry as well.
Complaints have been pouring in from cricket fans over the lack of tickets for Sunday’s match amid allegations of “black marketing” of tickets. On Friday, the Kolkata Police summoned Cricket Association of Bengal president Snehashis Ganguly in connection with their investigation.

Police have arrested 19 people so far in connection with black marketing of tickets for the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. The arrests have been made through seven cases initiated since October 31 over the sale at an exorbitant price of Rs. 8000 per ticket. Till now, 94 match tickets have been seized.
