The audacious incident took place late last night, sending shockwaves through the local community and law enforcement agencies. Officials said the incident took place in Reliance Jewelery showroom near Police Headquarter on VIP Rajpur road, Dehradun.
The store, known for its exquisite collection of high-end jewellery, fell victim to this meticulously planned robbery that left the residents and authorities perplexed. Reports suggest that the robbers, estimated to be a group of five, strategically struck during the early hours when the streets were quieter and security presence seemed to be at a lull.
Four miscreants entered the showroom while one stood outside ‘guarding’ the incident. They then held 11 employees, including the guard, at gun point and looted gold and silver jewellery worth Rs. 20 crores. Details of the operation remain scarce, but preliminary investigations suggest that the perpetrators gained entry by manipulating the security system, disabling alarms, and swiftly disabling surveillance cameras.
The methodical nature of the robbery indicates a high level of planning and sophistication, raising concerns about the possible involvement of seasoned criminals or an organized crime syndicate. The heist has not only rattled the store owners and local residents but has also prompted a widespread discussion on the security protocols and measures in place for such establishments.
