The month of intense Israeli bombings in Gaza left a staggering number of casualties, with an estimated 10,000 people losing their lives. Among the victims were men, women, and children who found themselves caught in the crossfire of a conflict they did not choose.
International leaders and organizations, such as the United Nations, have called for an immediate ceasefire, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Even as international pressure for a ceasefire rose, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected it several times, instead suggesting “tactical little pauses” for humanitarian aid and the release of hostages.

Running low on fuel supplies, 16 of Gaza’s 35 hospitals have been forced to suspend operations as the number of people wounded increases and the United Nations said that more than 1.5 million people, which is more than half of Gaza’s population, have been displaced.
The number of those wounded since the October 7 start of the bombardment has risen to 25,408, a Health Ministry spokesperson said, adding that Israel had conducted 18 attacks in the past hours, killing 252 people. Israel’s indiscriminate bombardment of civilian homes, hospitals, refugee camps, and schools, comes as a “shocking milestone”.
